It’s been a few years since I was at the site of the old Buffalo Ridge Observatory, or as urban legends says, the crematorium. Apparently, the park service has been doing some work back in the woods there.
You can’t tell much from this picture, but that big green patch is where the foundation and wall of the structure used to be. I’m sure it’s still there, but they buried it! Looks like they filled the area in, and planted a few trees on the site. While it actually makes sense from the park services point of view to get rid of it, I still hate to see it gone. It’s urban legends like the ones associated with this site that everyone loves.
There are still some signs of the ruins visible around the area, some of the finishing stones and stuff, but I’d assume those will be gone eventually also. This is a perfect example of why you should be respectful when visiting these locations, the more problems people cause at them, the more the owners are going to want to eliminate those problems.
Wow. I never actually made it back to the place, but I’ve been to the road a few times. Even totaled a car there. Sad to see it go, but then, I never saw it anyway lol. Thanks for keeping up with this kind of stuff!

Went there a long while back. Seen an abandoned cabin with light glowing out of it. A light from above floated above us and followed us out of that place. Love to go back but haven’t been since 👻
